Our accountants say that the unit itself either attracts VAT or transfer duty (not both) depending upon the VAT status of any possible buyer. We are NOT VAT registered - but if a buyer was VAT registered, then the correct way to phrase this fact would be to include the words "plus VAT if any" or "plus VAT at 0%" after the price. If a buyer was not VAT registered then he/she/or a company would normally have to pay 8% transfer duty
